An Embarrassment of Riches

Dear Mother Nature,

First off I’d like to thank you for the abundance of snow you gave us.  Thanks to your generosity, in less than a week you gave us approximately 3 feet of snow here in Maine, with more on the way today.  We certainly have an embarrassment of riches, or in this case snow.  Now don’t get me wrong, I love it.  However, I can’t help but feel like we should spread the wealth with other dogs across the globe, who equally deserve snow this winter.

Take my Dutch Cousin Bear for example.  While I trudge through shoulder deep snow, he has to content himself with just a dusting that quickly melted.  He loves making snow angels as much as Asa does.  Perhaps a bit more snow for Bear and his friends in The Netherlands would be nice?  I’m almost sure even his cat friend Siep would enjoy it.  And while you’re at it, my buddies in the United Kingdom would certainly be grateful for a winter wonderland to romp in after the disappointing few flakes you sent them last weekend.

Now I know what you’re thinking.  That’s what you were trying to do earlier in the winter when you made it snow in Hawaii but not here.  Clearly you were trying to share the wealth, and I misunderstood.  I’m sorry for barking at you about it.  Here’s my suggestion.  Only a few snowflakes for this latest round have started falling in Maine, with the brunt of it to come tonight.  So there’s still time to redirect that snow over to Europe where they would enjoy it so much more than me.  But whatever you do, please don’t send it to Canada!  Our buddies Finn and Seamus are buried!

Sincere Tail Wags,

Chuck Billy

Just look at our Cousin Bear’s complete disappointment at the amount of snow they received in The Netherlands. How can he even attempt to make a decent snow angel in a dusting of snow?

Meanwhile here in Maine, we have too much snow to play in it.
