Dire Wolf to the Rescue!

Asa saved my life!  But don’t tell him that!  Yesterday I was enjoying the New Hampshire SPCA’s Paws Walk, an event I look forward to attending each year.  Everything was as expected at first: dogs as far as the eye could see, new best friends handing out frisbees, and the tantalizing smell of treats wafting through the air.  A Puppy Paradise!  But then Paradise turned into a Nightmare!  There before me stood two of the scariest squeaky toys I’ve ever seen.  Not only were they ginormous, they were also moving!  I knew instantly why they were there.  They wanted to seek revenge for all the squeaky toys I’ve killed!  Before I could yell “run” to Asa, I was within their grasp.  But that’s when the little whippersnapper totally surprised me.  He didn’t run, he didn’t even flinch, he was immediately at my side protecting me from my furry avengers!  Who would have guessed?  Perhaps he is a Dire Wolf after all?  Whatever the case, the menacing squeakies knew they were no match for Asa.  Heck, they even waved goodbye to us as we walked away!

Despite that minor incident, we all had a great day participating in the fundraiser walk.  There’s still time to donate if you’d like to help the NHSPCA with their important work helping to find forever homes.  Also Mom and Dad learned about some exciting local businesses, that they will be sharing information about in future posts.  So all in all a good day.  But most importantly I learned that I could depend on my little brother during times of need, and I promise from now on to respect my squeaky toys!
