New England in Puppy Bowl XIV

In case you haven’t heard, New England is in the big game on Sunday!  No I’m not talking about the Super Bowl, I’m talking about the Puppy Bowl!  One puppy from Maine, and two from New Hampshire have been lucky enough to be chosen to play in Puppy Bowl XIV, this Sunday, February 4, 2018!  Best yet, there are two awesome opportunities for you to go cheer them on at viewing parties while supporting the animal shelters they represent!

Representing Maine in Animal Planet’s 2018 Puppy Bowl lineup is Juniper from the Animal Rescue League of Greater Portland (ARLGP).  Juniper is an energetic brindle pup, born on the 4th of July!  This all American pup has paws built for tackling and a zest for wrestling, making Juniper the perfect team player for Team Ruff.  Juniper’s friends at ARLGP will be cheering her on at a special Puppy Bowl viewing party at the Little Tap House (106 High Street, Portland, ME).  When Puppy Bowl airs from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, stop by Little Tap House and grab a beer to celebrate the best showdown of the day.  All sales of Allagash White will be donated to the ARLGP to support Juniper’s friends while they wait for their forever homes.  For more information on the viewing party, as well as Juniper’s rise from shelter pup to all star Puppy Bowl player, please visit ARLGP.org.

New Hampshire will also be represented in the biggest game of the day, by Iris and Edwin of the Humane Society for Greater Nashua.  Rescued from the streets in San Antonio, Texas, Iris and Edwin arrived in Nashua ready to play!  Don’t let Iris’ shy demeanor fool you, this Border Collie Mix is quite skilled when it comes to stuffed animals and rope toys, and ready as backup on Team Fluff.  Meanwhile, Edwin is relentless when chasing balls and has a fiercely competitive streak.  This German Shepherd / Rottweiler Mix will be hitting the field for Team Ruff.  Their friends at the Humane Society for Greater Nashua will be hosting a special Puppy Bowl XIV viewing party at the at the Anheuser Busch Brewery (221 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, NH).  In fact, Puppy Bowl stars Iris and Edwin will be in attendance!  The Puppy Bowl viewing party takes place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, before that “other game” begins.  The event is free to attend, but donations to the shelter from their wish list are appreciated.  To learn more, visit the Humane Society for Greater Nashua.

Sorry Dogs, these events are both Humans Only.  But you can cheer on these New Englanders at home too.  Puppy Bowl XIV will be on Animal Planet starting at 3:00 PM.  Or tune in earlier because there will be Puppy Bowl pre-game shows starting at 8:00 AM.  To meet the entire starting line up, go to AnimalPlanet.com.

Asa was never in the Puppy Bowl. This is just a shameless excuse to share a cute photo of him.
