Pet First Aid Class for POM Project

We at Living with a Golden strongly believe that knowing the basics of Pet First Aid and CPR is important for all dog owners.  On Sunday, November 5, 2017, a class on Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid and CPR will be hosted at York Bark and Play, with Bobby Silcott of the Maine POM Project.  Bobby Silcott is a retired EMT/firefighter, animal control officer, and facilities director for the Animal Refuge League; he teaches this course as a volunteer, with proceeds from this class to benefit the Maine Pet Oxygen Mask (POM) Project.

Since May of 2009, Bobby Silcott has been on a mission to help equip local fire/rescue organizations statewide, with Pet Oxygen Masks (POM) designed for most companion animals. To do this Bobby received the necessary education to qualify him to teach Cat and Dog First Aid/CPR, as well as, American Heart Association Heartsaver/BLS First Aid/CPR/AED courses. Bobby volunteers his time, so proceeds from these classes have gone toward the purchase of these much needed masks.  A set of Pet Oxygen Masks costs $80 including shipping and handling. A set includes a small, medium and large mask.  Since 2009, the POM Project has equipped over 300 fire/rescue squads with life-saving pet oxygen masks.

The Cat and Dog First Aid and CPR class will be offered this Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at York Bark and Play (915 US Route 1, York, ME).  The cost of the class is $80 and includes Red Cross book and certificate.  Pre-registration is required, with $40 due at that time.  Space is limited, so please call 207-361-4758 to register today.  The remaining $40 can be paid on the day of the class, with proceeds to go towards buying lifesaving pet oxygen masks for Maine communities.  Please bring snacks and beverages for class breaks.  No pets allowed.
