Puppy Gone Wild

Mom is insisting on decorating for Fall today.  Paws crossed Asa is old enough now to resist temptation so history doesn’t repeat itself.  Years ago Mom’s obsession with festooning the house in orange and gold knickknacks inspired one of Asa’s more memorable escapades as a puppy.  While I supervise Mom, here is a stroll down memory lane when Asa ended up in puppy prison…and Dad almost joined him!

Asa Did A Bad, Bad Thing

November 4, 2015

Asa’s in puppy prison.  And if Mom had her way Dad would be in puppy prison too.  I can’t help but feel bad for the little guy.  It all started with Mom taking down the Halloween decorations and replacing them with ones for Thanksgiving.  This is the first time in Asa’s short life that he’s experienced the whole house being redecorated for a holiday, and he got a bit too excited.

Oh sure he has seen Easter decorations come and go, and there were a few things out for Halloween.  But today Mom really changed the look of the house, and Asa wanted a better view.  Unfortunately though, he’s good at problem solving, and decided to stand on top of the sofa table!  I have to admit the scream Mom let out when she rounded the corner and found Asa precariously balanced on the table was really funny.  The confused look Asa gave her in return was equally entertaining.  I don’t think he had a clue that she was upset at him.  Well that is until she ordered him off the table and into his crate.

It was sometime during that exchange that Dad, who was sitting on the couch directly behind the sofa table, stopped watching TV and realized where Asa was standing.  Dad tried to plea innocent.  But because he was so close to the scene of the crime, Mom, who was judge and jury, didn’t buy his defense.  Good thing for Dad that he doesn’t easily fit into my crate, or he’d be in a time out too!  As for me, I’m just happy I was upstairs with Mom when Asa decided to do this.  Otherwise I’d probably be held responsible for his actions too!

Asa as a young pup, serving time in puppy prison. Just look at the surly look on his face!

After being let out early for good behavior, Asa was foolish enough to return to the scene of the crime! Paws crossed 2 years later he doesn’t succumb to temptation again!
