Willard Beach in South Portland, Maine is a popular dog friendly beach. Dogs are allowed from October 1 through April 30, all day from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. During the Summer season, between May 1 through September 30, dogs are restricted to 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Dogs are allowed off-leash under voice control, but handler should have leash available.
Tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood adjacent to the campus of Southern Maine Community College, Willard Beach is small with approximately four acres of sand, pebbles, and rocky outcroppings, but with space to play even during high tide. This scenic beach offers views of Casco Bay including Cushing Island, Ram Island Light and Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse. There is a small free parking lot just a short walk away, and the beach offers a playground, snack bar, and restrooms. Frequented by local residents and tourists, Willard Beach is bursting with dogs during their allotted time, and is a great family friendly beach.
