Dire Wolf Prophecy Fulfilled

You may recall back in the fall Asa made some sort of connection between shedding his fur and growing into a Dire Wolf.  At the time we all laughed, petted him on the head, and called him a silly puppy!  Well just a few months later his prediction may actually be coming true!  According to Asa in “Renewed Hope Thanks to Lobsters,” lobsters and dogs have a lot in common.  He theorized that just like lobsters shed their shells to grow, dogs shed their fur to get bigger as well.  Being a patient little fellow, Asa convinced himself that with each brushing he is one step closer to being a mighty Dire Wolf.  Being a more sensible dog, I didn’t believe him.  But that all changed this week.  Asa outgrew his collar!

Up until now our collars were interchangeable.  Oh sure his needed a slight adjustment every now and again, but the difference was almost negligible.  But over the weekend Dad went to put on Asa’s collar and it was much too tight.  Worst yet, when Dad went to adjust it, he realized it was as long as it could be!  At first I thought nothing of it, after all it was that ugly collar with the squirrels on it.  Obviously it was defective.  But then as Dad searched our collar wardrobe for a new one, time and time again my collars came back as too small for Asa.  Eventually Dad did find one that could be adjusted to be much larger, and I no longer had to be embarrassed by Asa prancing around the kitchen naked.

What is going on here?  Could Asa’s Dire Wolf prophecy possibly be correct?  Could my goofy little brother actually be growing into one of the most fiercest prehistoric carnivores last seen during prehistoric times…and on HBO?  If his theory is correct, in just a few months when he sheds his winter fur coat Asa will be huge!  Excuse me, I need to binge watch Game of Thrones to see exactly what I may be dealing with soon.

Who would have guessed that behind that goofy exterior beats the heart of a Dire Wolf?

Asa’s head isn’t that much bigger than mine? Is it?!

Asa practicing his fierce Dire Wolf pose. Perhaps I should tell him Dire Wolves don’t play with squeaky balls?
