Moose Point Park – Searsport, ME

Moose Point State Park in Searsport, Maine is a scenic spot for a dog friendly walk away from the crowds of Acadia and Camden.  Despite being delineated by 3 separate names, the trail “network” is an easy 1.5 mile loop around the park through forest and fields, along the Penobscot Bay.  There is also a small rocky beach and picnic area, making it a scenic place to spend the day with your dog.  Although we did not observe any moose on the day we visited, we did see an eagle soaring overhead, and watched the seals happily playing in the water following a lobster boat.  We also enjoyed a stunning sunrise, despite it being overcast that day.

Dogs are allowed on-leash.  The park is open 9:00 AM to sunset from Memorial Day to October 1st.  During the off-season visitors are welcome to enjoy the park, but are asked not to block the gate with their vehicles.  There is a small nominal entrance fee.
