Halloween Dog Events 2017

There are a lot of events happening this Halloween weekend that are either dog friendly or human friendly, but all benefit dogs!  So here’s a quick rundown of some “spirited” fun!

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26 – MONDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2017

Haunted Overload – Lee, NH

Voted one of the top haunts in the country, Haunted Overload (DeMeritt Farm, Lee, NH) is an experience unlike any other with actors, 34-foot monsters and scary structures. There are day haunts which are child-friendly and family focused so everyone can enjoy the haunt as well as Fright-nights which are extra scary! Sorry dogs, Haunted Overload is for HUMANS ONLY, but proceeds from this event benefit the animals at the Cocheco Valley Humane Society!  It has been known to sellout, so reserve your tickets early!

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2017

4th Annual Doggone Halloween Costume Parade – Boston, MA

The 4th Annual Doggone Halloween Costume Parade sponsored by the Downtown Boston BID is going to be a tail wagging time for dogs and humans!  Cosponsored by MSPCA-Angell, the parade is on Friday, October 27th from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM, on Summer Street between Washington and Hawley streets.  All well-behaved dogs and their owners are welcome to enter the costume contest, it’s FREE to enter! Every dog will receive a prize for entering the contest. Judges will award special prizes for Best Costume, Scariest Costume, Best Human and Dog Duo Costume and Most Creative Costume.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2017 

Haunted Dog House – Biddeford, ME

Dress your dogs in their most creative Halloween costume and head on down to Super Dogs & Cats (380 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME) for their Haunted Dog House fundraiser!  Jen Richardson Photography will be there to capture spooky photos of your little devil.  All proceeds to benefit Lucky Pup Rescue!  The tail wagging fun runs from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM with prizes for best costume, trick or treat, and howl.  There will also be a scavenger hunt and other haunted surprises!  Photos are $5, and will be emailed to you following the event.

Black Cat Ball – Brunswick, ME

Celebrate Halloween while helping shelter animals! The Coastal Humane Society and Lincoln County Animal Shelter are holding the Halloween bash of the year, with all proceeds going to the shelters. The Black Cat Ball promises to be a spirited evening of boos, booze and scary-good fun!  They’ll be psychic readings, ghoulish games, and oh did we mention $10,000 Cash prize raffle!  The fun begins at 7:00 PM at Fort Andros (14 Main Street, Brunswick, ME).  To reserve your tickets, and to purchase raffle tickets, please visit CoastalHumaneSociety. org.  This is a HUMANS ONLY event, but print out a picture of your pet in costume, because there will be a pet photo contest!

Zodie’s 7th Annual Charity Halloween Party – Portland, ME 

Hosted by The Portland Club (156 State Street, Portland, ME), all proceeds from Zodie’s 7th Annual Charity Halloween Party will benefit the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland.  The party begins at 8:00 PM with music by DJ Asia and photo booth by Hal Photography.  There will be a $500 cash prize for best costume or group of costumes!  Reserve your tickets today!  This is a HUMANS ONLY event.
