Healthy Puppy, Happy Puppy

Recently my Mom & Dad took Asa to his first vet appointment.  Between the treats, new toy, cooing and pictures by the staff, Dr. Doug eventually did an exam.  It’s good to take a new puppy to the vet to make sure he is healthy and in good shape.  The vet checked Asa’s eyes and teeth, made sure he didn’t have a heart murmur, and gave him an overall once over from nose to tail, all while praising the little guy.  It is good to make this a fun experience because this way he’ll look forward to going to the vet in the future.  In fact, I have to admit I was jealous that I couldn’t go too.

It was also during this visit Mom & Dad discussed Asa’s vaccination schedule.  The breeder took him for his first round of shots.  But it is very important for your growing puppy to keep up to date on their vaccinations.  It is a big world out there, and we want to keep our little buddy healthy and happy!
