Seabrook Beach – Seabrook, NH

Seabrook Beach is New Hampshire’s dog friendly hidden gem.  Dogs are required to be on-leash year round, and are limited to the hours of before 8:00 AM and after 6:00 PM from Memorial Day through Labor Day.  Before visiting please note that during the summer season, from Memorial Day through September 15, on-street parking is for residents only, and it is strictly enforced.  Also unlike many Maine beaches, visitor parking passes are NOT available for purchase.  So this dog friendly beach in Seabrook, NH is best visited during the off-season.  Seabrook Beach’s grassy sand dunes are also protected nesting areas for the pipping plover.  Dogs must stay away from the clearly marked restricted areas, especially during nesting season.  On the day we visited, we spoke to a resident who told us that during the summer the leash laws are strictly enforced and fines are given if dogs enter the restricted plover nesting areas.  However, even with the closed areas, this long sandy beach still provides plenty of room to play during high tide.

Considering the limited options for dog friendly beaches in New Hampshire, Seabrook Beach is a great destination.  It is located between Hampton Beach where dogs are not allowed at all, and Salisbury Beach where dogs are restricted depending on when you visit.  To learn more about other New Hampshire beaches that allow dogs, please visit our Beach reviews on our Dog Friendly Places page.
