This Sunday, May 1, 2016, grab your leashes and take a walk to help pets battling serious illnesses at the 9th Annual Paws 4 a Cure Charity Event. The event will be taking place at 1:00 PM at Quannapowitt Parkway in Wakefield, Massachusetts, with the walk starting at approximately 2:45 along scenic Lake Quannapowitt. Proceeds from Paws 4 a Cure will be distributed directly to veterinary hospitals to assist families throughout the United States who cannot afford urgently needed treatment for their pets.
Formed in 2008, the mission of Paws 4 a Cure is to provide financial assistance to qualified families who cannot afford veterinary care for their beloved dogs and cats who are fighting cancer, injured or ill. Paws 4 a Cure does not discriminate against breed, age, weight or diagnosis. This all volunteer organization does not receive any government funding, and relies on the support of individuals who care about animals. Based in Massachusetts, thanks to generous donors Paws 4 a Cure is able to provide assistance to dogs and cats throughout the United States in need of veterinary care for injuries and illnesses.
Registration for Sunday’s fundraiser walk is $25 for event admission, $40 for admission and limited edition t-shirt, and $15 for children under 16. There is a $5 registration discount for active military, veterans and first responders. Can’t make the event in Wakefield, but would like to make a donation? You can host your own walk team in your neighborhood to help to raise money for Paws 4 A Cure.
Dogs on leash are welcomed to participate, and each registered attendee will receive a goodie bag. Also on site will be many pet friendly businesses and rescue organizations. You can register that day at the 9th Annual Paws 4 a Cure Charity Event or in advance online.
