A Stroll Down Hat Memory Lane

Today, January 15th, is National Hat Day! Whether it is for a festive occasion, a formal event, or just a practical chapeau for the weather, I love hats! Little Orphan Annie’s friends may have sang, “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile,” but I feel a hat is almost as important, even if Chuck Billy didn’t always agree. So today’s post is a shameless excuse to stroll down memory lane, and share pictures of myself, Chuck Billy and Lemmy, in various hats over the years.

Take for example my favorite baseball cap from the New England Golden Jubilee. Sure I was pouting that I couldn’t go that year, but don’t I look great in it!

Hats can be trendy, like when I got caught up in the trucker hat phase.

And who doesn’t love a big floppy sun hat on a hot summer day?

Of course, on cold winter days, a warm hat is a must have accessory, even if Chuck Billy disagreed.

Then there’s Lemmy, who used this hat as an attempt to camouflage himself from ticks. It didn’t work.

Most of our holiday celebrations include some sort of festive hat!

And most recently a hat was just what I needed to complete my Halloween costume.

Happy National Hat Day! Thanks for coming along on this fashionable stroll down memory lane with me.
