Asa’s Active Imagination

My brother Asa has such an active imagination. Ever since he was a puppy he’s been convinced that there is a monster living in the closet in Dad’s office.

Asa will sit there for for hours by the closet doors keeping watch.
Some days he even falls asleep at his post.
Yet despite all the boring days sitting there, he never loses his sense of wonder that there is a monster living in the closet!
Asa has even woke me up a few times when he thinks he hears something stirring inside.
As his big brother, I like to encourage his imagination, and will sometimes join him on “guard duty.”
In fact, I’ve even been known to fill in for him from time to time, when Asa needs to step away.
For example, this morning I’m standing guard while he takes Dad for a walk. But we all know monsters aren’t real, and no way could one be living in our closet! Asa has such an active imagination…
