Asa’s Adolescent Angst

I’m not sure what triggered it, but my happy-go-lucky little brother is in quite a bad mood this morning!  It all started when Dad was getting ready to take us on our walk.  Asa flopped on the kitchen floor and refused to get up.  To be honest, I have to take responsibility for teaching him that move.  I’ve been known to use it every once in awhile when I want to enjoy a lazy morning.  But Asa usually looks forward to his walks.

Then once leashed, Asa took off like a Greyhound!  Not sure what his rush was, but neither Dad nor I were prepared for that speed.  Dad kept reprimanding him to stop pulling, and I kept getting jerked along by Asa’s erratic zigging and zagging.  Seriously Dad, one more morning like this and we may need to reconsider this tandem leash!

Then Asa’s foul mood really took a dark turn.  It is our routine when we return from our walk that we play a quick game of fetch before heading in for breakfast.  Mom tossed the ball, Asa caught it, and then he did the unthinkable.  He peed on our ball!  Forget the fact that is gross.  It is clearly stated in the Fetch Rule Book that when a ball is in play, it should never be peed on!  Annoyed, I headed in for breakfast.  Last I saw, Asa was standing in the backyard defiantly looking at Mom with a sour face.  Ok, I admit Asa’s angry face is hilarious.  But please don’t tell him that, or he’ll just get more angry.

Cheer up little buddy!  Everyone is entitled to a bad mood every once in awhile.  But it’s finally Friday!  Time for a weekend full of fun and adventure!
