Chuck Billy: As you may recall last week I went on a shopping spree for Asa’s birthday. But that’s NOT his big birthday surprise. Oh, in case you’re wondering I gave him two balls, a squeaky toy, and treats. Anyways, his BIG surprise is something Asa has wanted for a long time. For those of you who have been following us for awhile, you know that since Asa was a puppy he has begged for one thing, namely his own column on my blog. That’s why today, I’m announcing…drum roll please…I’ve added Asa’s name to my Twitter account – Chuck Billy & Asa @MaineGolden!
Asa: Wait, that’s it?! I’ve been tweeting from your account since I was a puppy. Where’s my column on LivingwithaGolden.com?
Chuck Billy: Blogging is serious business. Besides, you’re too young.
Asa: Too young? You were only 3 years old when you started it! The same age that I am now.
Chuck Billy: Yes, but I was a mature 3 year old. By that age I had taken care of our ailing older brother, grieved his passing, and was responsible for raising you!
Asa: I’m responsible!
Chuck Billy: Responsible? You spent Thanksgiving breaking the four paws on the floor rule by insisting on sitting on Grandma’s couch! That’s irresponsible!
Asa: Haven’t you heard the quote from A Christmas Carol, “When happiness shows up, always give it a comfortable seat?” Besides, some rules are meant to be broken, you said so yourself.
Chuck Billy: Don’t make me regret this gift. I can change it back!
Asa: Oh sure, will you at least spell your name right this time? Your old Twitter account had your name as one word, “ChuckBilly.”
Chuck Billy: That’s Dad’s fault! He didn’t know you could use spaces when helping me to set up the original account.
Asa: What about Facebook?
Chuck Billy: My name isn’t on that account. It will stay the same. Not that it stopped you from posting there in the past too.
Asa: Well to show you just how responsible I am, I’m going to graciously thank you for adding me to your Twitter account, Chuck Billy & Asa @MaineGolden! And I promise to tweet responsibly. Thank you for my not-so-big birthday surprise! Look out world, here comes more selfies!
