Bark Recognition Technology

Let’s face it, with the exception of cats, dogs are members of the household who spend the most time at home. So why is it no one has made bark recognition technology to accommodate our needs? We are definitely an untapped market, that would appreciate these tools to make our lives easier.

Take this new remote control with voice activated controls. Humans just have to say the word, and their favorite show is on the TV. Humans, who have thumbs, who could more easily work the buttons on this remote than dogs, yet they have the voice commands. Imagine how great it would be if dogs could change the channel with just a bark? No more being forced to watch whatever our family chooses. Dogs could finally watch what they really want to see – cooking programs!

Or what about virtual assistant technology like Alexa and Siri? No more sitting in the dark if your humans are running late getting home from work. Just one bark and we can have the lights on to welcome them home! We could even use it to call our humans and remind them that dinner is late, or to pick up more treats on the way home.

Speaking of messages, just imagine what we could do on social media if there was bark to text software! No more having humans edit our thoughts, or make us speak in a way we never would. Dogs would finally have control to share what we really are thinking!

I do admit there are drawbacks to giving dogs this much power, and it could be misused. Take my brother, Asa, for example. He would no doubt have us listening to “Baby Shark” all day, while simultaneously watching Elmo on TV. But that is a risk I am willing to take!

Now if you’ll please excuse me, the new TV remote may not understand me, but perhaps the DVR will if I bark at it long enough!
