Call of the Wild

As this winter wears on I continue to suffer from an extreme case of cabin fever.  Well you can’t even begin to imagine my excitement after the most recent snowstorm when I discovered the fence was almost completely covered.  Freedom beckoned!

Up until now Asa’s world has been very limited.  Here was my chance to show him the vast woods behind our house.  We could finally live as Golden Wolves, just as nature intended!  With AC/DC’s “Jail Break” running through my head, I quickly checked on Mom and Dad who were once again distracted by that silly shoveling game.  All I had to do was hoist Asa over the fence, and our adventure would begin!  But despite my best efforts, does he go over the fence?  No!  Asa decided to turn what was left of the fence into a chew toy!  So much for the call of the wild.  I guess I’ll go back inside and brood while playing with my squeaky bear.

Freedom Beckons...

Freedom beckoned…

...until Asa decided to use the fence as a chew toy.

…until Asa decided to use the fence as a chew toy.

Just wait, with the next storm they will be able to just walk on top of the fence.
