Dear Chuck Billy, Mom and Dad, I’m sorry I had a case of the grumpy growlies yesterday. I never should have treated each of you so poorly.
Mom, I’m sorry when you wanted to cuddle, I walked away and slept under the sofa table instead. I know the news makes you nervous and petting me calms you. But constantly trying to distract you from worrying is exhausting for me. I promise to be your cuddle buddy from now on.
Dad, I’m very sorry I forgot our heel training and dragged you after that squirrel on our walk. I know it’s no excuse, but all that zig zagging to avoid the neighbors and reminding them not to pet me got on my nerves. So I overreacted when that the squirrel ran close to us. He knows he should have been practicing social distancing! I promise to guide you safely on our walks from now on with no chasing squirrels.
Chuck Billy, please forgive me for grabbing my toy from you. Sharing is caring, and it was bad of me not to do it like I usually do. That shocked look you gave me really made realize I let you down. You can take my toys any time you want. But could you do me a favor and not hurt them? I know you’re stressed too, but that’s no excuse for the many you sent to the stuffed animal ER these past few weeks.
I promise that from now on I won’t wake up on the wrong side of the dog bed. And I especially won’t let the grumpy growlies take over again!
Love and Tail Wags, Asa
Chuck Billy’s Response: Asa, I speak for everyone here in saying we’re sorry we let our stress get to you. Everyone is entitled to an off day, even happy-go-lucky goofballs. We’ll all try to do better to avoid a case of the grumpy growlies from now on!
