Case of the Unidentified Friend Outside

If Angel Chuck Billy taught me anything, it was that a UFO (Unidentified Friend Outside) investigation could happen at any time and in any place! Such was the case on two recent outings that on the surface seemed unrelated, but soon held a deeper connection. A connection to Bigfoot!

Over the years Angel Chuck Billy led us on quests to find Bigfoot. In the end, rather than finding Bigfoot, he found himself agreeing with host of Expedition Bigfoot, and author of the book, Monsterland, Ronny LeBlanc’s theory that Bigfoot can turn invisible. I admit I was skeptical, but who was I to question a guy with a tv show and a renowned Dog Ufologist? However, now in light of recent discoveries, I not only believe it, but I’m adding to the list of Big Invisible Friends.

Back in January, while visiting the beach, I came across these ginormous paw prints in the sand. Now as a point of reference, my paws were way bigger than Chuck Billy. But as you can see in this side by side comparison, whoever made this print had even bigger paws.

Was it a Dire Wolf? Clifford the Big Red Dog? Or maybe Scooby Doo conducting his own investigation? Curious, I kept an eye out for whoever made such a big print. Alas, after walking the full length of the beach, I encountered no one who fit this proportion. I did find an awesome sandcastle though, and got distracted, pondering if this is how Prince Charming felt with the Cinderella’s glass slipper. Anyways, long story short, I forgot about my ginormous, yet to be met, new best friend, who I was tracking on the beach.

That is until a couple weekends ago on a visit to Freeport. There I noticed paw prints on the sidewalk. Now paw prints on the sidewalk, during mud season in Maine, isn’t anything out of the ordinary. However, it was the size and shape of these paw prints that got my attention.

I asked the L.L. Bean ambassador, who was standing nearby, if he knew who these tracks belonged to? But he was at a loss, as to who it could be. Although he did say that he “didn’t see anything, but sure wouldn’t want to meet an animal that big.” It was the “didn’t see anything,” part that peaked my interest. I sat there pondering it for a moment. What would Chuck Billy do?

But Mom and Dad wanted to keep moving. That’s when I happened to notice a picture of my BFBF (Best Friend BigFoot) in the window of a store. That’s it! Why should Bigfoot be the only mythical creature that can turn invisible? What if there are more Big Invisible Friends! He’d be awfully lonely if it was just Bigfoot by himself.

Angel Chuck Billy, I promise I won’t stop believing! And to the Big Invisible Friends who left these tracks, my apologies for not seeing you!
