Celebrating 9 Years of No Bowl Empty 2 Pet Food Pantry

Nine years ago, while running a cat shelter in Maine, Nadine Molloy recognized there was a bigger issue that needed addressing in her community. Families were surrendering their beloved pets not because they wanted to, but because they were faced with a difficult financial decision between feeding their pets and feeding their families. That’s when Nadine Molloy pivoted and opened No Bowl Empty Pet Food Pantry, because “No one should be forced to surrender their pet because they are unable to afford pet food.”

In 9 years we’ve watched No Bowl Empty 2 Pet Food Pantry grow from a room in her home, to moving to a larger location out of her garage, all to better facilitate her mission. During that time she expanded her scope to help veterans and the homeless care for their pets; organized health clinics; found assistance for pet medical emergencies; partnered with local organizations for pet food drives; put together hundreds of gift bags to make the Holidays brighter for pet families; and has participated in hundreds of events to spread the word that help is available, while raising funds for this grassroots, volunteer effort. It hasn’t been easy. Nadine wears her heart on her sleeve, and shares the triumphs and setbacks both for the pet food pantry and personal. Yet through it all her enthusiasm is infectious and her goal of helping pet families in need is unrelenting.

No Bowl Empty 2 Pet Food Pantry has helped thousands of pets in Maine. But Nadine and her dedicated volunteers can’t do it alone! This is why in celebration of their 9th anniversary of keeping pet families together, she is asking everyone to donate $9. Just a $1 for each year may not sound like a lot of money, but if all of our friends donated $9, that money adds up! We’ve seen it happen with her $1 Valentine and Christmas card fundraisers, which has raised thousands to help pet families in need! Small donations add up to make big things happen!
