Hi Chuck Billy! You were right! Well of course you were right, you were always right. But you were certainly right about your final detective case before crossing Rainbow Bridge. Remember how days before leaving you alerted Dad to a trespasser in our garage? Your nose always could sniff out when something was amiss.

At the time we assumed it was a mouse. I know, I know, I’m always inviting my mice friends in to play without your permission. Anyways, after showing Dad just where to put it, he placed a mousetrap in the garage, then forgot about it. Again, my apologies for dropping the ball there, but we had a lot going on with you crossing Rainbow Bridge so suddenly, that I kinda let a few things slip.

Fast forward to yesterday, when Dad was getting the recyclables ready to bring to the town’s transfer station, oh how you loved going with Dad on that important errand! Anyways, while in the garage, Dad heard the SNAP of the mousetrap, and was reminded of your trespasser. Except it wasn’t a mouse! Would you believe it was a vole! I know, crazy right? Whoever heard of a vole living above ground! But there he was, emphasis on “was,” stuck in the mousetrap.

Guess that vole loved adventures like you did. He wanted to see the world! Or at least our garage. Had I known he was spending Christmas above ground, I would have invited him to celebrate inside the house with me. If your paths cross at Rainbow Bridge, can you please give the vole my apologies for being such an inhospitable host? I feel awful not giving him a Valentine. Worst for how his adventure ended, what with it being so close to spring.

Well anyways, sorry to interrupt the fun you’re having at Rainbow Bridge. I just wanted to update you on the conclusion to your last detective case. I promise to be more alert from now on for any unexpected guests. Did I mention I welcomed a ladybug? Oh well, she’s gone too, so I guess that doesn’t matter now.
