It’s official.  Dad has finally lost his mind.  I knew it was only a matter of time, but I never expected it to be in such an absurd manner!  Dad turned Asa’s cone of shame into a colander of shame!  On Sunday Mom discovered a hot spot on Asa.  When Mom and Dad can’t keep an eye on him to stop him from biting at it, he has to wear the cone of shame.  No big deal.  Asa actually likes the cone.

Anyways, after wearing it all night Dad noticed the following morning that Asa’s ears were looking a bit red and moist.  With all this rain and humidity lately he was afraid the cone wasn’t letting air in and Asa could get an ear infection.  Now the logical thing to do would be to get rid of the cone, and put ear drops in Asa’s ears.  Nope, Dad decided to “MacGyver” the cone of shame!  In order to “help” air circulate, Dad drilled holes in the cone!  I know Dad loves any excuse to use his power tools, but this is ridiculous.

Asa, on the other paw, thinks this is awesome.  He’s hoping Mom mistakes him for a colander next time she makes spaghetti, and dumps the food right into his mouth to drain.  He’s also hoping to turn his modified cone into a pinhole camera so he can take even more selfies.  If only Asa had bright ideas, it would make for a cool lamp shade too!  Thanks Dad for keeping life interesting!
