Asa’s birthday is fast approaching so I better hurry up and order my little brother a present. I’d take him to the store and let him pick it out himself, but I fear what Asa will do if he has an audience again. I’ll never forget the day he embarrassed me by debuting his new song, “Welcome to the Pet Store,” in the middle of the leash aisle back in the 2019. For those who did forget, here’s Asa’s parody of Guns ‘n Roses’ “Welcome to the Jungle.”
Welcome to the pet store, they’ve got fun and games
They’ve got everything dogs want from squeakies to tasty things
They are the people that can find, whatever you may need
If your Mom’s got money, honey, they’ve got your cookies
At the pet store, welcome to the pet store
Watch it make your ta-ta-ta-ta-tail wag, wag
Ohhh ah, they want to see you wag!
Welcome to the pet store, they’re open every day
If you want it they’ve got the food you need, but there’s a price Mom pays
If you’re a very naughty dog, or one who aims to please
You can taste any treats you want, but you won’t get them for free
At the pet store, welcome to the pet store
Hear that squeak squeak that squeaky toy
Ohh ah, you want to squeak that toy!
Welcome to the pet store, they get more stuffies every day
They know you live like an animal who really loves to play
If you want what you see, they know you’ll squeak it eventually
You can have any toy you want, but you better not take it for free
At the pet store, welcome to the pet store
Watch it make your ta-ta-ta-ta-tail wag, wag
Ohhh ah, they want to see you wag!
And when you’re there you never
Never want to go home
No home, no home, no home, stay!
[Asa’s guitar solo]
You know where you are?
You’re in the pet store, puppy!
You’re gonna shop!
In the pet store, welcome to the pet store
Watch it make your ta-ta-ta-ta-tail wag, wag
In the pet store, welcome to the pet store
Hear that squeak squeak that squeaky toy
In the pet store, welcome to the pet store
Watch it make your ta-ta-ta-ta-tail wag, wag
In the pet store, welcome to the pet store
Mom bring me, bring me now, hoo ah!
