Edge of a Nor’easter

Well as of this morning, the snowstorm that we’ve been so anxiously tracking, starting from predicted amounts of 10 inches of snow, has diminished to at most a dusting. So as I warned Mother Nature yesterday, if she didn’t send us the snow we so nicely requested, I would be unleashing Asa’s latest song parody, to Vixen’s “Edge of a Broken Heart.” And yes, Asa is barking, Edge of a Nor’easter, in falsetto!

So Mother Nature, if you don’t want to be Cryin’, stop our Waiting, because we are getting Desperate, for our Charmed Life, to become an American Dream; so when it comes to snow, just Give It Away! And yes, that grammatical nightmare, long run-on sentence is filled with song titles from Vixen’s 1988 debut album! Because they rocked, and would not have disappointed a devoted fan like you did Mother Nature with this lack of a snowstorm!

I can’t believe it didn’t snow so long
But winter’s strange
I watched the forecast for a long long time
But the truth remains

I don’t need another sunny day
To melt the ice
The truth remains about today
And I can say a new foot of snow would be nice

I’ve been living on the edge of a nor’easter
I want snow to fall, I want a squall
I’ve been living on the edge of a nor’easter
Don’t make me wonder why, and beg to the sky

It isn’t like you never had the chance
To change your map
Did you think that you’d skip my snow dance
Well, the dance is due

I’ve been patient here for way too long
Mother Nature, that’s over (Mother Nature, that’s over)
It will be easy just listen to my song
And if it’s gonna snow, it best not be flurries

I’ve been living on the edge of a nor’easter
I want snow to fall, I want a squall
I’ve been living on the edge of a nor’easter
Don’t make me wonder why, and beg to the sky

I’ll find snow south of here
That’s nothing like this
Two feet of snow would be swell
Any less and you’re gonna be sorry, lady
With this rover!

I’ve been living on the edge of a nor’easter
I’ve been living on the edge of a nor’easter
Don’t make me wonder why, and beg to the sky
I’ve been living on the edge of a nor’easter

And another thing Mother Nature, just like Asa’s hair in this old photo, we want snow that’s big and fluffy!
