This weekend UFO researchers, believers, skeptics, and those who fall somewhere in-between, will all be gathering in New Hampshire for the annual Exeter UFO Festival! Why Exeter, NH? Because on September 3, 1965, approximately 5 miles south of Exeter, in the neighboring town of Kensington, there was a UFO incident with many witnesses, and even more questions left unanswered. This festival, hosted by the Exeter Area Kiwanis, is a celebration of all things UFO-related, and features nationally recognized experts on ufology, interactive panels, children’s activities, and other events.
Lectures will be taking place on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1, 2024 from 8:45 AM to 5:00 PM. Tickets are $35 and are good for both days, with proceeds to benefit multiple charities in the seacoast New Hampshire area. They can be purchased at the event in front of the town hall across from the gazebo. There will also be limited edition souvenirs available, and in the room to the right of the entrance presenters will have their books and DVDs available for purchase.
Alright, I admit dogs are NOT allowed to attend the lectures, but there is still plenty to see and do outside with family friendly activities. This includes an Alien Costume and Alien Pet Costume contest and parade taking place on Saturday from 12 Noon to 12:30 PM at the Town Hall Common Park, at the corner of Front and Court Streets. Not to brag, but Asa won a ribbon in the costume contest back in 2019, while I got interviewed for a podcast. But I digress. There will also be other activities for children, trolly rides to the infamous Kensington UFO site, and a dance party in the park. New this year will be a Jazz Pianist Concert on Saturday evening with Eric Mintel, who has performed at such noteworthy places as the Kennedy Center, the White House and the United Nations. Host of “Eric Mintel Investigates,” he will also be presenting at 2:00 PM on Saturday his theories on the connection between UFOs and Bigfoot.
