Good news! I had my recheck with my internal medicine doctor, and she is very optimistic that the anti-fungal pills are working! Although I’m still honking like a goose, it isn’t as often. And the nose cannon is also firing less. More importantly the ooze from my nose is more often clear than a mucus goop. Taken as a whole, she is optimistic that although this is a slow process, the medicine is working. It just means I need to be patient, because she said this medication takes at least 6 months to really see improvement, and I’ve only been on it since early December. I’ll go back to visit her in two months, to make sure I’m still on track.
In other good news, while I was there an ophthalmologist was able to take a look at my eye. Mom and Dad weren’t able to speak to her, because it was a quick check while I was out back getting bloodwork done. But according to her vet tech, she was pleased with what she saw. So she called my primary ophthalmologist, who was not in the building yesterday, and together they said I could switch from one of the really strong eyedrops meant for short term use, to one that is better for longterm! I’ll start that today, and in a month I’m scheduled for a followup with my eye doctor.
So in summary, although the surgeries in the fall were not completely successful, I’m back on the right track! This is a lot of information to take in, so just to make sure the Fungi got the message that his days are numbered, I wrote a new song!
