Awards show season is here! Time for the lowest budgeted one of them all – The Golden Tail Wags Awards! Now in its 9th year, we have a great show planned for you, where we celebrate the weird and wonderful things seen while on adventures last year. So get ready to giggle, grin and groan!
Best Comedy Duo in a Romcom: Our first award of the day goes to Mr. and Mrs. Bird in the romcom The No Nesters! A delightful comedy about newlyweds just trying to start a home and family. Watch as hilarity ensues when they realize who their neighbor is!

Best Lead Actress in a Drama: Anyone can recite a script these days. But it takes true talent to tell an entire tale just using your eyes! A round of applause for the lead actress in I See You!

Best Actor in a Sci-fi: Who didn’t have nightmares after seeing his chilling performance in, Shed But Not Forgotten! A tale about a lone fur ball seeking revenge after being shed by his team while out on a mission exploring a new planet.

Best Action Hero: And the best action hero, who also did his own stunts, goes to Turtle Burr! This seemingly harmless tree burr comes alive at night as a turtle righting all the wrongs in the forest! Don’t let the slow pace of the movie fool you, it is a TREEmendous thriller!

Best Stunt Double: As your host, I personally will go to extremes to bring to you the best places to explore. However, sometimes producers insist on that I use a stunt double. Such was the case on this trip to the beach, where a horse made this sand angel for me. Because this horse frequently fills in for me in photos, we will not show him in order to keep up the illusion. However, here is his handy work!

Best Standout Performance: This pine tree stole the show with his standout performance in I’ve Got to be Me! A tale about a tree’s quest to find who he really is among the forest.

Best Set Design: Attention to detail is important with set design. When done properly, it tells the viewer everything you need to know about the person. Such was the case with this well placed Bacon Scented Squeaky Ball spotted on the bookcase in a local news story.

Best Stylist: Having a good stylist in your wardrobe department also plays an important role in all productions. Here the award goes to the stylist for this fashionable safety bollard at a local beach.

Best Documentary: Are you part of the problem or part of the solution? “Prevent Poo-llution!” is the simple but powerful message in this tale for tails!

Best Cautionary Tale in a Docu-Drama: For those who are uncomfortable with the direct nature of “Prevent Poo-llution,” we present to you the softer approach to please leash your dog in this docu-drama: “Unleashed dogs can unintentionally destroy garden spaces and pose food safety risks.” This documentary really makes you take a step back and think.

Best Thriller: For edge of your seat excitement with a sinking feeling, the award goes to this Maine beach with the sign, “Serious Risk of Water Engulfing Your Vehicles.” Unfortunately, no one is available to accept this award as noted by the numerous tire tracks on the beach beyond this sign.

Best Award in Artistry: And finally the best award in artistry goes to Mother Nature for her work in Reflections on a Silver Lining…

…and her playful reinterpretation of Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night, with Pollen Day.

Congratulations Everyone! Thus concludes the 2026 Golden Tail Wags Awards! Please join me in the year ahead as I search near and far for next year’s winners!
