I’ve been working really hard all summer.  Dognabit!  It’s time I take a day off!  But being a responsible dog, I can’t completely abandon my duties.  That’s why I have arranged to have a substitute guard dog protect my home.  Introducing Chuck Asa!

Sssshhhh, I’m going to let you in on a little secret.  Chuck Asa isn’t really a dog.  I’ve been collecting our fur for weeks to make him.  But from a distance people will never know the difference.  I bet even you were fooled by the picture!  Just look at how realistic his eyes are.  Even I have trouble differentiating him from Asa’s goofy look.

In fact, I am so confident in my substitute guard dog’s abilities I may even take the whole weekend off.  No worrying about the Wild Turkeys eating my blackberries.  The Mice won’t dare bother my Honey Bees with Chuck Asa on duty.  And one look at that menacing scowl will even scare away my nemesis Mr. Squirrel!  Now if you please excuse me, I’m going to enjoy my day off and let Chuck Asa go to work.  Hope you all have a great weekend too!
