Happy with a Twist Golden Yoga

Congratulations Grandma! Asa and I are very excited to announce that our Grandma is now a certified yoga instructor!  Her training began last fall, and she has worked really hard learning all sorts of interesting things including the proper way to pose and move, anatomy, and different approaches of teaching everyone from children to the elderly.  She even now knows the proper names of yoga poses and not the silly ones she and Grandpa called them over the years.  We’re so proud of her!

Although Grandma claims she has been doing yoga well before I joined the family, I can’t help but take credit for being her inspiration. After all, I’ve been a Golden Yogi Master since I was a small puppy.  Here are a few of my favorite moves…

I call this the Floppy Puppy Pose, but others may simply call it the Laying Down Arm Stretch.

This is my Midmorning Stretch Pose, but according to some it is a variation of the Flapping Fish Pose.

Traditionally the Eagle Pose is done standing up with your arms and legs wrapped every which way, but here I was breaking down the move in easy steps for Lemmy to understand.

Anyone can do the Plank. But how many can do the Reverse Plank?

I call this the Flying Golden, but some may recognize it as the Peacock Pose.

This was my early attempt at the Spinal Twist Pose, also known as the Bendy Puppy.

As I grew older I perfected the Spinal Twist and renamed it the Happy with a Twist Pose.

Congratulations Grandma! We’re all very proud of you becoming a certified yoga instructor! Please sign me up as your first official student!
