Heart of Rock and Roll Is in Naples, Maine

We are going from the Heart of Poland to the Heart of the Lakes Region for the fourth stop on Asa’s World Tour of Maine! We are rocking in Naples, Maine! Named for Naples, Italy, because according to Maine Memory Network, “the curve of the bay by the village resembled that of the Italian city.” The town was settled in 1774 and incorporated on March 4, 1834. Since the late 1700s Naples has been attracting vacationers to its scenic shores.

Asa: WOW, this place looks great! And look at all those people enjoying Naples Causeway on Long Lake and Brandy Pond!

Chuck Billy: We are just going to take some publicity photos now in front of the town hall, before we head off to a special meet and greet at Hacker’s Hill Preserve in nearby Casco. We may have had some speed bumps on our tour so far, but nothing is going to slow us down!

Asa: Hacker’s Hill is beautiful! Are those mountains in the distance?

Chuck Billy: Yes, on a clear day you can see the Appalachian Mountain Range of Maine and New Hampshire, including Mount Washington. But I’ll explain more about that tomorrow. We have a show to get ready for!

Asa: This is by far the greenest green room on my tour! In fact, I think this is the first green room on my tour of Maine!

Chuck Billy: You just sit here and wait to greet fans.

Asa: This chair rocks! It is very reminiscent of Ozzy Osbourne on his throne.

Asa: But I’m too excited to sit here! I’m going to go over to the event parking and share my cassette. If the Foo Fighters can bring back cassettes with their latest release, so can I!

Asa: Maybe it would help get people’s attention if I played my mixed tape?

Chuck Billy: Almost time to hit the stage! Let’s get the adrenaline pumping with a mosh pit!

Asa: Thank you Chuck Billy! This has been the best stop so far on my world tour of Maine!

Chuck Billy: Stop giving me kisses! Time to get back to the Naples Grange for your stage debut here!

Chuck Billy: Asa, what are you doing?

Asa: I’m getting my game face on ready for the big show!

Asa: *waiting patiently backstage*

Asa: Hello NAPLES! Who’s ready to rock on this early afternoon?!!!! Let me hear you BARK!!!!

Chuck Billy: That’s odd. I thought with the veterinary office on one side and the park across the street, we’d have an audience.

Asa: Who cares about an audience? This has been the best stop yet on Asa’s World Tour of Maine!

Please join us tomorrow as we share more photos from our visit to Hacker’s Hill Preserve in Casco, and tune in next week for your behind the scenes peek at the next stop on Asa’s World Tour of Maine!
