Dogs, want to go on a car ride? But not just any car ride? One that truly sparkles and also helps others? Then load up the family and head out on the Holiday Trail of Lights sponsored by Go Kennebunks, and be sure to vote to support local nonprofits, including our friends at Lucky Pup Rescue, the Animal Welfare Society, and various local land trusts.

All you need to do is download the free map of 46 residents and businesses participating in Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Arundel, Maine. In this friendly competition between homes and businesses to “out-decorate” each other, each one is paired with one of 34 nonprofits. After you enjoy a drive viewing the lights, vote for your favorites by making a $5 donation online, and their corresponding nonprofit will receive the money. In addition, the business and residence with the most votes will each receive an extra $500 for their nonprofit partner. So vote often for your favorites! The contest runs until January 2, 2022. Last year’s winner in the Best Business category raised $1,280, plus the $500 prize money for the Animal Welfare Society. That’s a total of $1,780 to help animals in need! AWS, Lucky Pup Rescue, and the other nonprofits participating this year need YOUR VOTE to see who will win in 2021!
