Homemade Valentine Pupcasso

Dogs, are you still looking for that special gift for your Valentine? Well look no further! Have I got the perfect one for you to make! Your very own, one of a kind, Valentine Peanut Butter Pupcasso!

What you’ll need: 8×10 canvas panels, to make mine extra special for Valentine’s Day, I found heart shaped ones at a craft store. You’ll also need nontoxic paint, gallon size resealable bags, and peanut butter.*

*Please make sure it is dog safe peanut butter, that does NOT contain the toxic ingredient Xylitol, also known as birch sugar, wood sugar, and birch bark extract, and the European code of E967, which is toxic to dogs!*

Step 1: Smear dog safe peanut butter on one side of the resealable bag.

Step 2: Take the canvas panel and put blobs of paint on it. Then carefully slide it into the bag and seal.

Step 3: Start licking! I taped my resealable bag to a big piece of cardboard, which was also taped to the kitchen floor. It kept everything neat in case a bag opened, prevented the peanut butter side from being flipped over, and it stabilized the panel so it wouldn’t move around when being licked.

Step 4: Carefully remove from bag, and let dry.

Step 5: Give your special Valentine your one of a kind work of art!

My Creative Process:

Instead of dog safe peanut butter, I substituted plain chicken baby food, because I still had a jar of that leftover from when I wasn’t feeling well, and it is delicious!

Because these are surprise gifts, Philip Sloth was kind enough to help me with the parts that needed thumbs.

Watching paint dry is the hardest part!

I’d show you the finished Valentines, but they are gifts! Grandma hasn’t seen hers yet! Oh dear! I hope she didn’t read that! Grandma, look away!
