Asa here. It’s no secret that I like to flirt with the ladies on social media. It’s also no secret that I’m not very good at it, and can get nervous sometimes when they actually respond back. Well you can’t even begin to imagine my excitement when I heard that Priss and Bogey’s family were coming all the way from Alabama to meet Chuck Billy and me! In fact, I got a little too excited and let my nerves get the better of me.
I overheard Chuck Billy making plans to meet up with them at our favorite park. I was so excited I couldn’t sleep a wink the night before our rendezvous. Alabama is a long way to travel just to meet us. Ok, I admit I don’t know where that state is located. I think it’s up by the Canadian border? Or is that Alaska? Whatever it doesn’t matter. I was just hoping to make a good first impression! After careful consideration I decided I’d start with my best pick up line, “Priss are your paws tired? Because you’ve been running through my mind all day!” Chuck Billy groaned when I told him my plan.
That’s when I started overthinking things. What if they don’t like my jokes? What if I forget the words to the song I want to serenade Priss with? What if I forget to play it cool and trip doing a happy dance to greet them? I decided if all else fails I should look my best, and spent most of the night grooming myself. Sadly I got a bit overzealous, and ended up giving myself a hot spot.
Wearing a cone of shame was definitely NOT the first impression I wanted to give Priss! At least Mom was kind and said I didn’t have to wear it for our visit. Want to know the most embarassing part? I had nothing to worry about! Priss and Bogey didn’t come to Maine! They stayed home to throw a really big party…oops, I mean to guard their house. On the bright side though, I think I made a good impression on Priss’ parents. It was wonderful to meet you Priss and Bogey’s Mom and Dad! I hope Bogey likes his squeaky lobster, and please give Priss a big kiss from me when you get home…
