Today Asa is hopping down memory lane with this post from 2018 when he thought he and the Easter Bunny were best friends. Thankfully, the Easter Bunny never did come over for a playdate. However, that ginormous rabbit does insist on sneaking in each year to hide my kibble around the living room! So while I try to prevent that from happening again this year, please enjoy this hop down memory lane…
Asa and the Easter Bunny (March 30, 2018)
Ever since Asa posed for a selfie with the Easter Bunny this week, all he’s been talking about is how they are now best friends. He even has this ridiculous idea that after the Easter Bunny is done with his duties on Sunday, the two of them will go on a road trip together and hilarity will ensue. Oh it will be hilarious alright. To quote Asa, “There will be adventure, comedy, and of course singing!” That’s quite a bold assumption considering the Bunny didn’t say a single word to him during their selfie. He just gave Asa a hug, petted him on the head, and posed. Where did Asa get the idea that they could go cross country together, much less be friends?
I suppose Asa and the Easter Bunny do have a lot in common. They both have an obsession over eggs. Whenever we get eggs mixed in with our kibble, Asa loses his mind and spins around in excitement. I bet he would love to eat one of those fancy painted eggs the Easter Bunny hands out. Asa and the Easter Bunny are also both fond of bad jokes too. With Asa it’s silly puns that make my eyes roll. With the Easter Bunny, it’s his insistence on hiding my kibble in the living room once a year and forcing me to hunt for it. That annoys me to no end! Not funny, rabbit! Not funny at all to hide a dog’s a kibble!
Anyways, despite the Easter Bunny’s odd obsession with hiding my food once a year, I suppose it would be good to have him around the house. He’s rather tall, so no doubt could open the door and let us out anytime we wanted. Also according to Asa he’s even tall enough to drive! Now that would really come in handy to have a friend with a driver’s license. Asa said the Easter Bunny is also good at throwing the ball for fetch. I’m not sure if that’s true, or just part of Asa’s fantasy that he and the Easter Bunny are best friends.
Besides, who am I to judge? After all it is the Year of the Dog, and according to the Chinese zodiac dogs are most compatible with rabbits for friends. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if Asa’s new best friend shows up or not after Sunday. Oh and in case you’re wondering why I didn’t get a selfie with the Easter Bunny too, it is is because no self-respecting Golden Wolf would ever pose with a ginormous rabbit! I have a reputation as a fierce predator to maintain. Now that I think of it, perhaps it would be safer for the Easter Bunny if he didn’t come for a visit after all.
