We have reached the stage in the Holidays where Asa is filled with self-doubt and anxiety wondering if he bought good gifts for everyone, and more importantly will the gifts be delivered on time. When it comes to Christmas shopping, things can get a bit overwhelming and out of control for my little brother. So as with all things in life, he decided to write a song parody about it! Set to the tune of REM’s “Losing My Religion,” is Asa’s cautionary song about online shopping, “Oh No I’ve Bought Too Much, I Haven’t Bought Enough.”
Oh! The ‘net is bigger
It’s bigger with gifts
These gifts aren’t for me
The lengths that I will scroll to
The glazing in my eyes
Oh no I’ve shopped too much
I clicked it all
That’s me in the checkout
That’s me with the full cart
Shopping for Christmas gifts
Trying a coupon code too
And I don’t know if I can use it
Oh no I’ve bought too much
I haven’t bought enough
I thought that’s free delivery
I thought that it was all on sale
I think I saw my credit card cry
Every clicking, of every waking hour
I’m choosing gift perfection
Trying to buy gifts for you
Like a rich, lost and blinded fool, fool
Oh no I’ve shopped too much
I clicked it all
Consider this
Consider this “The Gift of the Century”
Consider this “THE gift”
Will bring Mom to her knees, great
But what if all these presents come
Arriving late
Now I’ve paid too much
I thought that’s free delivery
I thought that it was all on sale
I think I saw my credit card cry
But I just want to scream
That was just my scream
That’s me in the checkout
That’s me with the full cart
Shopping for Christmas gifts
Trying a coupon code too
And I don’t know if I can use it
Oh no I’ve bought too much
I haven’t bought enough
I thought that’s free delivery
I thought that it was all on sale
I think I saw my credit card cry
But I just want to scream
Buy, cry, buy, cry
That was just my scream
Just my scream
Just my scream, scream
