In My Easter Bonnet

“In my Easter bonnet,

with all the duct tape upon it,

I’ll be the silliest puppy in the Easter Parade…”

Enough with the singing already!  As you can see, Asa has to wear the cone of shame.  But once again, he is a happy fool, and oblivious to the seriousness of the situation.  Instead he is singing about it!  He gave himself a hot spot.  I suppose it is my fault.  I didn’t warn him not to lick his paw so much.  I was just happy that he was so focused on licking that he was being quiet last night, and not thumping around at midnight.  Since Asa was given his freedom last week, nights have been a bit noisy around here.  But little did I imagine my one night of sleep would result in having to listen to him sing that ridiculous song over and over again today!  Luckily, Mom says he didn’t do that much damage, and probably just needs a day or two in the cone to give his paw time to heal.  Asa will be fine by Easter.  It will certainly be a long few days though!  I wish he’d just focus his energy on chewing the stupid cone off, like I did once.  Hence the duct tape.  Oh well, if you can’t beat him, join him….

“Asa’s in an Easter bonnet,

with all the duct tape upon it,

he’ll be the silliest puppy in the Easter Parade!

He can’t lick all over,

with that thing on his shoulders,

he’ll be the happiest puppy when he gets that thing off!

Oh I could write a sonnet about Asa’s Easter bonnet,

and of the silliest puppy in the Easter parade!”
