Join Me on a Trip to Peanutbutterville

This is DJ Asa bringing you my classic summer hit parody to get you through the dog days of summer! So come with me where there are tropical breezes, delicious treats, and lost loves in Peanutbutterville, sung to the tune of Jimmy Buffett’s “Margaritaville.”

Nibblin’ on dog treats,

Readin’ my friends’ tweets,

All about their plans for the summer.

Chewin’ my Nylabone, on my front yard.

Smell those hot dogs,

Hey the neighbors are startin’ their grill.

Wastin’ away again in Peanutbutterville,

Searchin’ for my lost squeaky ball.

Some dogs claim that there’s a human to blame,

But I know, it’s nobody’s fault.

Don’t know the reason,

The ball was here all season,

With nothin’ to show but a broken squeaker.

But it’s a real beauty,

A bacon ball cutie,

How it got lost, I haven’t a clue.

Wastin’ away again in Peanutbutterville,

Searchin’ for my lost squeaky ball.

Some dogs claim that there’s a human to blame,

Now I think,  – Oops, it could be my fault.

I ran by my brother,

Caught it on first try,

Told to “come,” had to cruise back home.

But there’s peanut butter in the freezer,

And soon it will render,

That frozen concoction that I can’t resist.

Wastin’ away again in Peanutbutterville,

Searchin’ for my lost squeaky ball.

Some dogs claim that there’s a human to blame,

But I know it’s my own darn fault,

Yes, some dogs claim that there’s a human to blame,

And I know, it’s my own darn fault.

Chuck Billy: While Asa sings his heart out, I’d like to remind my dog friends to read the label of their peanut butter jar before raising a toast to summer, to make sure it does NOT have anything toxic to dogs including xylitol, which also hides under the names of wood sugar, birch sugar, and birch bark extract.
