Lemmy’s Dogged Determination in Spring

As we say goodbye to the last patch of snow in our backyard, I couldn’t help but be reminded of my brother, angel Lemmy. No one loved snow more than Lemmy. From the first flake of the season to the last, he cherished every bit of it. However, it was that last flake that would get Lemmy into trouble.

If it was up to Lemmy, he would have had snow year round. So as it melted in the spring, he would set off on a mission to find more. If on a walk Lemmy spied a patch of snow in someone’s yard, he would drag Mom into that yard. And I do mean drag. Lemmy was strong, and determined. So there Mom would be in a neighbor’s yard with Lemmy either rolling on the patch snow, marking it as his own, or doing both! This proved to be very awkward for Mom.

Thankfully this was before the proliferation of security cameras, so the chances of them going viral on YouTube wasn’t an issue. But if a neighbor happened to look out their window and see them there, it was embarrassing. But on the bright side, Mom did meet a lot of the neighbors that way. Some would come out to pet Lemmy, and told him he was welcomed anytime. An invitation Lemmy gladly accepted. Although once their snow melted, Lemmy would hold them personally responsible for its disappearance!

Did I mention he liked ice too?
