Lights, Cameras, Asa!

As the manager for Asa’s World Tour of Maine, I admit I could have done a better job promoting his career. How Taylor Swift got the Time Magazine cover instead of Asa is beyond me! His summer tour was equally impressive, and he was seen dating a celebrity! His philanthropic deeds may not have been as generous as Taylor’s, but he gave from the heart and that counts for something, right? I blame it on not doing a concert movie. But that’s about to change! I got Asa onto the set of a real live movie! Get ready for lights, camera, ASA!

I decided it was time to go big and take Asa’s World Tour of Maine out of state. Therefore, we headed to Massachusetts with our favorite rock star, soon to be actor. But I knew it still had to rock, so we went to ROCKport, Massachusetts, with our specific destination, Halibut Point State Park. Alright, so I admit I didn’t know when we arrived that there would be a movie filming at the park that day. But hey, timing is everything and I have great timing! Besides, with personality and good looks like Asa, it didn’t take long for the crew to take notice and come over to snap a few photos.

That’s when we learned that they were filming a scene for the movie, “Good,” based on the true life story Sarah Good, who was one of the first women accused in the Salem Witch Trials. Instantly my manager mind went to work. How could I get Asa into this movie? I know! I immediately barked about how it is a little known fact that a few dogs were accused as witches during that sad chapter in Massachusetts’ history. But the crew member told us the scene being shot today was set in Scotland. “Even better!” I barked. After all, Golden Retrievers are native to Scotland! Asa would be perfect for a walk-on cameo! The crew member did admit the country of origin was right, and even added that she could cover Asa in cinnamon like the other actors to get a dirtier, scruffier look, but she couldn’t get past the fact that Golden Retrievers weren’t around in the 1600s. But she did invite us to watch them film a scene. So we found a spot off-camera and settled in to watch.

It was very excited watching from behind the scenes how this future Prime movie was being made.

Alright, I admit I was getting bored just watching. But Asa’s interest remained high.

I did find their snack break very interesting. Even if they didn’t share with me.

Then another crew member spotted us! I thought for sure this was going to be Asa’s big break, because as opposed to the first crew member, this one was in charge of taking still shots!

But alas, despite all of Asa’s efforts to win her over with his charm, he still didn’t get a role in the film.

Finally it was time to film! And based on the intensity of the scene, I could understand why Asa wasn’t quite the right fit for the movie. Not a lot of smiling in this scene, and we know Asa can’t help but smile and wag his tail when in front of an audience.

Asa: That was AWESOME!!!! Thank you Chuck Billy! I may not be in the film, but I made a lot of new friends! Chuck Billy: Stick with me, pup! Under my management your name will be in lights…someday! *whispers* Maybe not movie lights, but lights, somehow nonetheless…

Thank you to the cast and crew of “Good” for letting us watch! We look forward to seeing your miniseries when it is released!
