Love in the Shire: A Movie by Asa

Asa here. I have to admit I wasn’t always paying attention on Chuck Billy’s quest for the Berkshires’ Bigfoot. Blame it on his incessant rambling about paranormal theories. Or perhaps it was because it was “Merry Movie Week” on the Hallmark Channel? Regardless my mind started wandering and I found myself writing my own Hallmark inspired Christmas in July movie script. A lot of rock stars dabble in acting and movie making, why not me?

My movie is about a struggle tuba player. Oh I should add this really is a fictional movie and any similarities to real dogs are strictly coincidental. As I was saying, the star of our movie is a struggling tuba player, on holiday in a place called the Shire.

One day at a lake while Bigfoot hunting with his brother, he noticed a group of kayakers from a nearby resort. In that group was a small town dog, trying to unplug from the hurried pace of life, and on her own adventure to find herself. That’s when the unthinkable happened! Her kayak began to tip! Instantly our hero jumped in and rescued her, getting her safely back to shore. However, before they could talk, he was whisked away by his brother to continue their quest.

Days passed, but neither dog had forgotten their encounter at the lake. Both were hoping to see the other again, but they each continued with their separate but close vacations. Their paths nearly crossed again at the summit of a mountain! But alas, our heroine got a sniff of the food being prepared at the lodge, and went off to investigate. Meanwhile our hero got distracted by a butterfly that he followed in the opposite direction through a field of wildflowers.

Then it happened! On the final day of their vacations, just when they gave up hope of ever seeing each other again, they both found themselves face to face at a local restaurant! Over that pizza they exchanged laughs and found love in the Shire.

Alright, so this is just a rough draft. I need to fill in a few more plot points before making my movie. Perhaps I’ll watch more Hallmark Channel Christmas Movies to get ideas!

And just to reiterate, any resemblance to real dogs is strictly coincidental…honest!
