Mars Is Warmer Than Maine

This past weekend parts of Maine were colder than the temperatures on the planet Mars!  Seriously!  Maine was colder than Mars!  According to NASA’s Rover Environmental Monitoring Station located on Mars, on Sunday, January 7, 2018, the wind temperature was -21 Celsius (-5.8 Fahrenheit) and the ground temperature was -2 C (28.4 F).  Whereas in our neck of the woods in Maine, the wind chill was -27 Celsius (-17 Fahrenheit) and the ground temperature was -18.8 C (-2 F).  Therefore by my calculations, it was WARMER in outer space than in my backyard on Sunday morning!

As a Dog Ufologist, this made me wonder that perhaps I was too quick to judge my Alien friends and the reason for the recent uptick in UFO sightings in December.  Maybe the Aliens knew this bitter deep freeze was coming to Maine, and the UFO’s appearance over Mount Agamenticus was for our benefit.  Perhaps it was a UFO Uber, offering rides to their warmer planet so we could wait out the cold snap?  An intergalactic warming station, so to speak.  Oh how I wish I took them up on that offer!  Sure the lack of air and gravity there would make playing fetch difficult, but it’s a small price to pay to feel a few subfreezing degrees warmer.

But then again, maybe that’s what the Aliens want us to think?  Maybe this is some sort of Alien conspiracy headed by Mother Nature to make our planet more like Mars!  Thus making it more comfortable for Aliens to come visit.  According to Space.com, the average temperature on Mars is about -60 Celsius (-80 Fahrenheit).  Well would you believe the wind chill temperature on the top of Mount Washington in New Hampshire on Saturday dropped to -73 Celsius (-100 Fahrenheit), making it a comfortable location for the Aliens to hang out undetected!  Yes, there were scientists working in the laboratory there that day.  However, with temps like that, no doubt their eyelashes froze shut, making it impossible to see the UFO land a few feet away.

However, before you start hanging out on mountain tops trying to hitch a ride on a UFO to a warmer planet, relax!  According to our local meteorologist, temperatures in Maine are expected to reach above freezing later on this week.  So we can delay our trip to Mars until we are better prepared and truly know the UFO’s intentions.

Seriously, Mars was warmer than my backyard yesterday!
