With temperatures continuing to hover well below freezing, and no substantial snow in sight in the forecast for southern Maine, it appears Mother Nature has ignored my recent request. Therefore, Asa is taking a different approach by writing a catchy song to the tune of “Winter Wonderland,” that will perhaps get Mother Nature to realize the problem with her weather decisions. Or, if anything, gets stuck in her head as an annoying ear worm.
Mother Nature, are you listening?
Here in Maine, ice is glistening.
A beautiful sight, but we’re not happy tonight,
Freezing in a winter wonderland!
Gone away are the snow birds.
Here to stay, is the deep freeze.
We’ll face this cold day,
Wondering why we stay,
Freezing in a winter wonderland!
Mother Nature, can you stop this deep freeze?
Or at least send us snow to play?
We can’t do much in this frozen tundra,
So please send us different weather now!
Later on we’ll perspire, as we sweat in the summer.
Yes, we’ll complain, it’s the Mainiac way,
Freezing in a winter wonderland!
Mother Nature, are you listening?
Here in Maine, ice is glistening.
A beautiful sight, but we’re not happy tonight,
Freezing in a winter wonderland!
We’re freezing in a winter wonderland!
