As always please obey the dog rules and clean up after your dog so that we all may continue to enjoy visiting these places!

Portland Head Light, Cape Elizabeth, Maine: This park has everything you need for a scenic Mother’s Day celebration including cliff walk with lighthouse views, historic fort to explore, rocky beach, children’s garden, and picnic tables. Dogs must be on-leash, and there is a parking fee.

Maudslay State Park in Newburyport, Massachusetts: Enjoy its 480 acres of historic landscapes including an extensive network of carriage roads, open meadows and scenic overlooks of the Merrimack River. There are miles of hiking trails that crisscross the park through dense forest and open fields. Or for a more leisurely dog walk, we recommend the formal English gardens and sculpture park. Dogs must be on-leash, and there is a parking fee.

Dog Mountain, St. Johnsbury, Vermont: Home of the Stephen Huneck Gallery, Dog Mountain is 150 acres on a mountain top with trails, ponds, and fields for dogs and their families to enjoy. It is also a place of healing to memorialize in Dog Chapel pets who have crossed Rainbow Bridge. Dogs are allowed off-leash, and admission is free, but donations are encouraged to keep this dog paradise open for years to come.

Langlais Sculpture Preserve, Cushing, Maine: Take a whimsical walk at the Langlais Sculpture Preserve. Located in Cushing, Maine, this nature and sculpture park celebrates Bernard Langlais’ unique, edgy, and very imaginative works of art. Dogs are welcome to explore this preserve on-leash, but please be respectful of the sculptures. Admission is free, but donations are always appreciated.
