Get ready for a great two day music festival with proceeds to benefit some important causes including K9s on the Front Line!  The Elks Summer Music Festival will be taking place on Friday, August 11 and Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Augusta Elks Lodge (397 Civic Center Drive, Augusta, ME).  On Friday the gates open at 5:30 PM, with opening ceremony at 6:00, followed by live music from 6:30 to 11:30 PM featuring the local bands Working Class and The School Street Band.  Then on Saturday the festival continues with gates open at 11:30 AM, and music all day including Yellow Brick Road which pays tribute to Elton John, and Twyce Shy who have been named “Maine best ’80s hard rock cover band!”  There will also be country music from Blended Souls and a fun mix of R&B, pop and classic rock favorites from Grand Orange and The Colwell Brothers.  Maine humorist Gary Crocker will also be on hand with his unique perspective on life.

Proceeds will benefit the Maine Children’s Cancer Program which provides integrated, comprehensive, clinical research based medical care and psycho-social and practical support services to infants, children, and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders from throughout the state of Maine.  Proceeds will also benefit K9s On the Front Line.  Based in Portland, Maine, K9s on the Front Line supplies fully trained PTSD service dogs at no cost to Veterans.  Their team of experts work with Veterans to pair them with an appropriate service dog, whether it is evaluating and training the person’s pet, or finding and identifying the best possible match for that individual’s needs.  Through an extensive training program with experienced police K9 handlers, K9s on the Front Line will pair Veterans with a service dog that will walk the path of healing beside them at no cost to the Veteran.
