My neighbors had a wild party last night. I really can’t blame them, what with it being Mardi Gras. Besides, who doesn’t want to cut loose and have fun during this especially cold winter? They sure were yipping and howling into the wee hours of the morning though, making it difficult to sleep. I guess I’m more disappointed that the Coyotes didn’t invite me to join them. I even had beads!
Perhaps they did make an attempt to include me? There has been a female Coyote spotted hanging out in our wood line lately. Dad said she has more on her mind than just beads though. Well of course she does! I would have offered to bring a king cake to their party! I’m not oblivious to party etiquette, I would not have arrived empty pawed.
I wasn’t the only one whose night was thrown off by their wild party. Before Mom let me out in the morning, she detected the scent of Mr. Skunk’s cologne in the air, and noticed the snow beneath our backstairs was disturbed. Not wanting to wake my Skunk friend, who no doubt wanted to sleep-in, Mom leashed me up and I did my morning business in a different part of the yard. You see, I’m a considerate neighbor, unlike those Coyotes.
