As we all do our part to practice social distancing and follow travel restrictions, the 6th annual New England Golden Jubilee at Dog Mountain has been canceled. However, mark your calendars, because the event organizers, Andy, Grant and their humans Sandra and Peter have already reserved a new date for May 15, 2021!
In the meantime, they are also organizing three informal Golden Gatherings to take place at Dog Mountain this year. These will be low key without the fundraiser auction and event schedule. However it will be a wonderful opportunity to see old friends, meet new ones, and enjoy a day at Dog Mountain with hiking, swimming and a bonfire. The Golden Gatherings will take place on July 18, August 15, and October 10, 2020. No registration is needed. Please visit New England Golden Jubilee on Facebook for all the latest information on the Golden Gatherings.
Thank you to everyone who generously donated to this year’s Jubilee. $2,000 was raised for the Morris Animal Foundation’s Golden Retriever Lifetime Study! For those who made donations to the Kibble Cup Auction to benefit the Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue, these items will be carefully stored for next year’s event. All perishable items donated will be distributed at the smaller Golden Gatherings and to Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue.
Although this year’s event is canceled, you can still show your support by purchasing New England Golden Jubilee Merchandise. From t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, caps, tote bags and travel mugs, there is something for everyone. The deadline for ordering has been extended but please allow extra time for shipping. $5 from each item ordered goes to support the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study.
We look forward to seeing you all at the New England Golden Jubilee on May 15, 2021! For more information on this event and the Golden Gatherings, please visit them on Facebook at New England Golden Jubilee. To learn more and see photos from previous years, please visit their website at NewEnglandGoldenJubilee.com. In the meantime, please be safe, wash your paws, and keep your tails wagging, because Dog Mountain will echo with the sound of Golden Retrievers again!
