Don’t miss the furriest walk in New Hampshire at the 27th Annual New Hampshire SPCA Paws Walk! Paws Walk is much more than a fundraiser walk, it is a dog festival featuring fun activities, dog demonstrations, pet friendly vendors (including our friend Annabell’s Kookies), and delicious food. Watch adoptable dogs strut their stuff during the “Dogs on the Catwalk” ceremony, and sign up to participate in the many other dog themed activities happening throughout the day. Be sure to also visit the “Doggie Day Spa,” which is Chuck Billy’s favorite part of the day splashing in the kiddie pools. Best yet, walkers and donors who raise $100 or more are automatically entered to win a weeklong stay in Nashville!
The event takes place at Stratham Hill Park (270 Portsmouth Ave, Stratham, NH) this Sunday, June 9, 2019, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with the official walk stepping off at 12 Noon. Walkers can choose between a 2 or 1.5 mile walk along the wooded park trails. Registration is $35 per adult and $25 per youth to walk, and can be done in advance or the day of the event. Can’t make it to the event but still want to lend a helping paw? Then sign-up as a Virtual Walker for just $20! Fundraising is significantly down this year, so please donate! Even just $5 can help make a difference in the life of a shelter animal looking for a forever home.
Proceeds from Paws Walk benefit the important mission of NHSPCA, who cares for thousands of animals each year and never puts a time limit on animals finding a home. The New Hampshire SPCA serves people and pets from across the state of New Hampshire through its programs, which include pet adoption, pet behavior training, humane education, animal cruelty intervention, low cost spay/neuter clinics and much more. The NHSPCA also offers at no charge the Alzheimer’s Cafe, in which older adults living with Alzheimer’s or dementia and their caregivers are welcome to come interact with the animals. For more information including all the prizes available for the top fundraisers, as well as to pre-register, visit Paws Walk 2019. The NHSPCA Paws Walk is a family tradition for us. We began attending before we even had dogs back in 2003 when it was known as the Seaside Stroll held in Rye, NH. We’ve participated on sunny days and rainy, on hot days and freezing cold, and we have wonderful memories from each and every year, all while lending a helping paw for a good cause! Here are some photos of Lemmy, Chuck Billy and Asa enjoying the NHSPCA Paws Walk over the years…
