Nothin’ but a Maine Time

Bret Michaels of Poison and Dee Snider of Twisted Sister came to Maine this past weekend as part of the Parti-Gras 2.0 tour. Once again though, my manager, Chuck Billy, neglected to get me an invite. Regardless, I noticed Bret and Dee have some down time before their next show, so had my people got in touch with their people, I would have suggested some ways to have nothin’ but a good time in Maine.

For example, I know Bret Michaels loves riding dirt bikes and atvs. He could have had a great time on the Sunrise Trail. This multi-use trail consists of 87 miles, and follows along a former railroad corridor, that runs through all the beauty of Maine from the rocky coastline, through dense forest, and along rivers. And best yet, dogs are allowed so Bret could take his rescue dog, Bret Jr., with him to enjoy the trails as well!

Now Dee Snider doesn’t seem like the hiking trail type, but if after a late night of partying or before hitting the town for an evening of fun, I’m sure he’d wanna rock watching the sunrise or sunset from Cadillac Mountain. Although before cruising to the summit at this popular part of Acadia National Park, he would need to make a reservation.

Speaking of popular, Bret and Dee sure draw attention wherever they go. But if they would like to get a little shopping done in privacy, Maine’s iconic store, LL Bean, is open 24/7! They keep rockstar hours, perfect for them to slip in during the night. And Bret, you’ll be happy to know they carry a wide variety of bandanas, and Dee they also have tall sizes for giants of rock, such as yourself. So you both could stock up on flannel shirts for chilly nights relaxing backstage.

Bret, we saw that your friend, Chris Jansen, joined you for the New Hampshire stop on your Parti-Gras tour. If you followed his advice and bought a boat, may we suggest doing a little fishing in one of the many lakes in Maine? Better yet, if you catch a fish, be sure to snap a photo and submit it to our local news. They may feature your photo on their weekend segment, “Big Ol’ Fish.”

And what Maine visit would be complete without lobster! If my people had contacted your people, I would have told them the secret to making the best lobster roll. Skip the mayonnaise and grill the bun in butter! Oh dear, I just gave away the secret! If you’re not Bret or Dee, please disregard that last sentence.

Anyways, Bret Michaels and Dee Snider thank you for coming to Maine this Labor Day weekend! We hope you enjoyed your visit. And please return soon, because you can have nothin’ but a good time in Maine!

Ayuh! I’ll leave the porch light on for you.
