Ogunquit Beach in Maine is Dog Friendly from October 1 through March 31. Dogs are allowed off leash from the footbridge walkway north to Moody Beach, on the water side only. Dogs are not allowed near the fenced in area where endangered Piping Plovers are nesting. No dogs are allowed on Ogunquit Beach from April 1 through September 30, and there is a $100 fine if caught breaking that rule.
Ogunquit Beach is a wide sandy beach during low tide, perfect for running on early Spring days. As with most beaches in southern Maine, during high tide space for playing is limited. During the off season, free parking is available at a parking lot near the Moody Beach end of Ogunquit Beach. Please note that Moody Beach is privately owned, and no dogs are allowed at any time. During the summer season, we recommend visiting nearby Wells Beach.
